Dr. Judith Feldsien, new associate surgeon with Direct Veterinary Surgery.
Dr. Feldsien brings her considerable international and Minnesota-grown surgical expertise to your clinic with Direct Veterinary Surgery in 2019. Judy is a 1997 graduate of Murdoch University (Australia) with a BVMS degree. Residency-trained in both anesthesia (University Melbourne, 2003-05) and then surgery (University of Minnesota, 2006-09), she achieved board certification with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2010. Her professional experiences have taken her through primary care, emergency medicine, university tertiary anesthesia practice, and private specialty surgery practice. She condenses this into a well-rounded, practical, communicative, thoughtful surgeon interested in serving you, your clients and your patient’s surgical needs.
Judy will be supported by Kelly Noyes, CVT. Kelly has 19 years of veterinary clinical and education experience in Minnesota, working both in private and academic settings. She also brings considerable expertise in business management and communications to our DVS crew.
Karley Brace, CVT continues her unparalleled support of this surgeon, and the consistent and friendly management of the DVS logistics. Karley and Kelly will work together to ensure your scheduling requests are handled efficiently and accurately, and your daily email and phone inquiries are addressed effectively.
Our expanded team will allow for a more responsive scheduling window. We will have additional same day/same week “urgent/ER surgery” slots open, allowing for a wider range of surgical cases to be managed in-clinic if you so desire– gastrointestinal, urinary, reproductive, wounds, fractures, and various trauma conditions. To differentiate ourselves, Judy will support the TPLO preference for cruciate treatment, and I will maintain the TTA choice for the same.
(A now larger) We of Direct Veterinary Surgery wish for you and yours a healthy, productive, sustainable, creative, fulfilling new year of life. Your goodwill and collaboration make this work I do a vibrant and rewarding life experience.
In support of your tireless work for the beasties,
Lara Rasmussen, DVM, MS
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons
