Referral for DVS surgical care

For those clients traveling from a distance or in circumstances that make an in-clinic surgery at your primary care veterinarian’s clinic not feasible, DVS has secured operating privileges at two Twin Cities clinics for outpatient surgery—Lakeland Veterinary Hospital (eastern Twin Cities) and Northwest Animal Hospital (western Twin Cities).

We have worked closely with these veterinarians and staff, and are confident in offering this resource to you for your pets’ outpatient surgical experience. Geography, in-clinic schedules, logistics and case urgency may all interfere with a timely surgery experience at your primary care veterinarian’s clinic, so please feel free to explore this option when working through a surgery plan with your primary care veterinary team.

To maintain continuity in care, we strongly recommend your primary care veterinarian make a referral to Direct Veterinary Surgery for you (using our webforms for veterinary professionals, www.directvetsurg.com ) Please request this referral from your primary care veterinary team; they will confirm the transfer of necessary medical records, lab tests, xrays, etc., and the process will be more efficient.
